Terminal 5: Challenges of a Mega Project
The Terminal 5 Programme at heathrow Airport, is one of the largest infrastructure projects in Europe in the last
10 years. Nick Gaines, who is the Head of Systems Integration for British Airports Authority, will bring unique insights
into the sort of challenges that this large programme has brought in terms of managing scale, physical logistics,
and the application of technology. He will describe the strategies and experiences that BAA faced on the ground and in particular, will highlight
the contribution to the overall project that BAAs innovative approach to collaboration with partners, contractors and subcontractors has made.
A brief update of where T5 is today will be provided together with a summary of the lessons that both he and BAA have learnt.
