BCS Project Management Specialist Group

Welcome to the BCS Project Management Specialist Group Website. The Group provides a forum for over 2300 BCS members to enable the exchange of information, skills, techniques and methodologies which will enhance the professional status of Project and Programme Management within the IT and related industries.

Join PROMS-G PROMS-G aims to provide BCS members with the opportunity to develop their awareness and competence in Project and Programme Management, encourage research and promote the use and development of standards. The majority of events are organised in London and the Thames Valley. However, a number of regional sub-groups offer a wider national coverage.

Event evenings are free to PROMS-G Members and guests; bookings for event evenings must be made online prior to the event. However, guests will only receive a firm acceptance a few days before the event if there is sufficient space available once the booking for the event has closed. There is a modest charge for educational events ('Schools' and conferences). Membership of the Group is free to all BCS Members.

Project Manager Today logoThe Group's Official Notification newsletter is contained in the magazine 'Project Manager Today' which is published monthly and is available free to all registered UK members of PROMS-G for whom we have a current address and who wish to receive the magazine through the post.

PROMS-G Aims and Objectives

The aims and objectives of the group are essentially to:

  • Promote best practice in Project and Programme Management
  • Facilitate the sharing of skills, techniques, tools and methods
  • Positively encourage members to participate in professional Project and Programme Management activities
  • Represent and promote the interests of PROMS-G members with other organisations and professional bodies
  • Develop awareness and competence in the application of Project and Programme Management techniques
  • Support research and development of Project and Programme Management standards.

PROMS-G is a non-profit making organisation, is run on a totally voluntary basis and is supported by a constitution. Support in the form of sponsorship of the provision of meeting and event facilities is crucial to our function and success, and any organisations wishing to help us in this respect should contact the Chairman.
